Dedicated Recital Area

Recital Space
Here at the C. Bechstein Centre, we have a dedicated space available for recitals and concerts. Within this area, there is a C. Bechstein Model C 234 concert grand piano plus three Birddog P200 cameras and a pair of stereo Schoeps condenser microphones for recording/live-streaming opportunities. We also have a remote-controlled curtain to offer a more intimate recital environment.
There is capacity for 53 seats, however for a larger audience please contact us.
Booking and Costs
There is a minimum booking time of two hours.
The price for the initial two hours is £200 and £100 for subsequent hours. If booking for a Sunday, there will be an additional charge of £25 per hour.
Recording and Live Streaming
If you wish to have your event recorded or live streamed, this will be an additional charge of £100. You will receive all the unedited recordings of all five channels. Please note we do not have the facilities to edit audio or video.

Studio 5 for Small Groups
​
In addition to our recital area, during showroom opening hours Studio 5 is available for recitals or masterclasses with a smaller audience. This room is priced at £25 per hour. You can see the terms and conditions for this room here.

Recital Area Terms and Conditions
Bookings
•
Our recital area is available for hire from Monday to Saturday outside of showroom opening hours, starting at 6pm with a finish no later than 9pm. The recital area on Sundays will be available for hire between 10am and 5pm, however must begin before/at 12pm.

Payment
•
Payment will be taken 14 days prior to the booking via credit/debit card or bank transfer.
Amplification, Percussion
•
Amplification or percussion instruments are not permitted
Warm-Up
•
Warm-up is included in your booked time and is only permitted on the Model C234 on stage.
Cancellations
•
Cancellation Policy: We require at least 7 days notice prior to the booking to cancel. Any cancellations after this time will incur a 50% charge of the total booking fee including VAT. No shows will incur a 100% charge.
